Dr. "L.T." Donovan, a native of Estherville, Iowa, completed his
undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa. He then attended the College of
Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Donovan’s internship was at
Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, Orthopaedic Surgery Preceptorship at
Ireland Army Hospital in Ft. Knox, Kentucky, Residency at Eisenhower Army Medical Center
in Ft. Gordon, Georgia. Dr. Donovan proceeded to complete a Fellowship in Hand Surgery at
the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Donovan is a diplomate with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. In addition, he is active in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, Iowa Orthopaedic Society, American Medical Association, Iowa Medical Society and the Dickinson County Medical Society. Prior to joining Iowa Lakes Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in 1990 he was in private practice in Texas and Georgia.
